Sustainability has become an important issue in the fashion industry, and for good reason. The environmental impact of the clothing industry is significant, and consumers are increasingly looking for brands that prioritise sustainable practices. Celtic Fusion clothing is proud to be one such brand. In this blog, we'll explore the importance of sustainable fashion and how our brand is committed to sustainable practices.

Sustainable Materials

One of the most important ways to promote sustainable fashion is to use sustainable materials. At Celtic Fusion Clothing, we prioritise natural fabrics, including cotton, linen blends, jute, and coconut.

These fabrics have been chosen with a sustainable approach from the growing of fabric, to producing and then wearing. We choose sources which are less water and energy consuming to produce. We also avoid bleaching to minimise toxic chemicals in our clothing. Celtic Fusion have a wide range of un-dyed fabric Celtic clothing designs to choose from made from raw plant fibres that retain the natural colour of the fabric giving our customers authentic clothing which is natural and feels great on the skin.

We pay attention to every little detail of our designs to be sustainable, including the buttons. Instead of using plastic, we opt for a more eco-friendly choice - wooden buttons made from the off-guarded shells of coconuts. Not only do these buttons look and feel great, but they also help reduce waste in the fashion industry. By using this innovative approach, we ensure that we're not only providing our customers with high-quality clothing but also protecting the environment by not contributing to deforestation.

Production Process

At Celtic Fusion, we take our commitment to sustainability seriously at every stage of our production process. We believe that the choices we make today will impact the world tomorrow, which is why we work with small, independent manufacturers who share our values. Our clothing is made in small batches, which not only reduces waste but also allows us to ensure that we are only producing what we need. Furthermore, we prioritise ethical labor practices and are proud to say that everyone involved in the production process is treated fairly. As the designer and founder of Celtic Fusion, Regina Tierney is personally invested in the production process. She sources fabric and works closely with her team in India, where she spends three months every year. This in-person relationship with our suppliers allows us to maintain the highest standards for working conditions and quality, ensuring that our customers receive products that they can feel good about wearing.

Impact on the Environment

The impact of the clothing industry on the environment is significant, with water and energy use being two of the biggest issues. We're committed to reducing our impact on the environment by choosing fabrics from sustainable sources that require less water to produce.

We prioritise energy efficiency and use eco-friendly and recyclable packaging materials as much as possible to reduce waste. Furthermore we plant a tree with each customer order giving back to the planet.

We strongly avoid the over-consumption of fast fashion creating timeless and long lasting clothing reducing environmental impact. Sustainable choices makes these clothing items easily recyclable in the future.

In addition to these practices, we're also committed to educating our customers about sustainable fashion. We believe that by promoting sustainable practices, we can create a more sustainable future for the fashion industry.
